About Us

Reina Whittick, the Founder of Mother Beginnings is also a mother of three children. She has worked as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery for nearly twenty-one years. As a L&D Nurse she has observed many new mothers who lack the knowledge and resources that could make their transition into motherhood easier. She has spoken with many mothers and has observed that mothers are usually ashamed to talk about the moods and feelings that they experience during pregnancy and after the baby is born.  Another observance she made is that mothers tend to do a lot of planning for the actual birth of our child, but very little thought or planning goes into what will happen when they get home from the hospital or birth center with their newborn.

Mother Beginnings is designed to empower mothers and mothers-to-be by equipping them with valuable information, planning guides and resources.  Mother Beginning’s mission is to create an unprecedented movement of mothers who are empowered through education, who speak freely and boldly of their expiriences as they journey into motherhood. As we continue to empower more mothers to do this, an emboldened society of mothers will emerge. The silence surrounding our stories will be forever shattered, fears and self-doubt quelled, as we to step into a bright new space of confidence and clarity.
